RASTER SCAN DISPLAY

  • 1. In this a beam is moved all over the screen one scan at a time from top to bottom and then back to top.
  • 2. In this the refresh process is independent of the complexity of the image.
  • 3. cost is low.
  • 4. Raster display has ability to display area filled with solid colours and patterns.
  • 5. Raster display can display mathematically smooth lines, polygon and boundaries of curved primitives only by approximating them with pixel on the raster grid.
  • 6. Because each primitive must be scan coverted and required separate scan conversion hardware.
7. Graphics primitive as specified in terms of the end points and must be scan converted into there corresponding pixel in the frame buffer.
